How to Arrange a Funeral
It is our aim to make the whole process of arranging a funeral as simple and clear as possible.
I will be pleased to either discuss initial arrangements over the telephone, at our office or at your home.
Some initial information will be necessary regarding the person who has died, such as, their name, address, date of birth, and the time and place of their death.
I will also need to discuss the nature of the arrangements required. A decision will need to be made regarding whether the funeral is to be cremation or burial.
I will then discuss the arrangements in as much detail as possible to ensure that I am able to provide you with the service that you require.
Remember, I am here to help you. I will tailor the funeral to suit your needs and wishes.
Registration
- Every death must be registered in the area where it occurred, not the area of residence.
- A 'certificate of cause of death' must first be obtained from either the family G.P. or the hospital doctor.
- This must be taken to the registrar together with a copy of the birth certificate and medical card, if they are available.
- Usually an appointment is necessary at the registrar.

The registrar will give you a green certificate which should be given to the funeral director.
